"REFLECTIVE" IRON-ON TRANSFER APPLICATION
|
1. Place your t-shirt face up on a clean flat surface, ensure its sitting flat and without creases or wrinkles. (keep in mind that you will be using a very hot iron so make sure the surface you choose will not be damaged by heat) |
2. Lay your t-shirt transfer on top of your t-shirt, use a ruler to position this correctly. You can usually measure from the arm seams to center the transfer correctly. (make sure the shiny plastic paper side is upwards) |
|
3. Heat iron to maximum temperature (around 200 degrees Celsius approx) Ensure the steam setting is off and that there is no water in the iron. |
4. Once transfer is correctly positioned, lay a thin piece of material overtop of the transfer and t-shirt, this will stop the transfer or t-shirt getting burnt when you use the hot iron to apply. |
![]() 5. Iron over the piece of material and transfer in a small swirling motion for 2 minutes. Do this lightly and slowly at first so you don't accidentally move the transfer out of alignment. Being careful not to leave the iron in one place for too long as this could burn or mark the t-shirt |
6. Turn over the t-shirt so the transfer is now laying flat on your table, and the back of the t-shirt is facing upwards, place the piece of material over the back of the t-shirt and iron the back of the t-shirt for 1 minute, in the same manner as you did the front. |
![]() 7. Turn the t-shirt the right way up again, remove the piece of material and very carefully iron the shiny surface of the transfer for approx 5-10 seconds or until the plastic paper very very slightly starts to pucker. (Do not let the iron burn or melt the plastic transfer or t-shirt) |
8. Let cool slightly then slowly remove the front shiny backing paper by pulling over on itself. Do this slowly and only once the transfer has cooled slightly or else the transfer may lift while the glue is still bonding / cooling |
![]() 9. Once you have removed the front plastic backing the t-shirt is ready to wear, any additional glue that may of squeezed out from underneath the transfer due to pressing too hard with the iron can be removed by placing the clear plastic backing that came with the transfer back on top of the ironed -on transfer and ironing again for a few seconds.. |
